The influence of site factors on wood density and wood moisture of beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) in Ukrainian Carpathians was investigated. According to the research results the environmental influence on wood tissues of European beech has a significant effect on the technical value of timber. Wood density and moisture content are two variables that are strongly correlated with forest site types or altitude.
