BĐRLETĐREN VE AYRITIRAN ĐSLEVLERĐYLE ĐSTANBUL'DA BOĞAZ KÖPRÜLERĐNĐN TOPLUMSAL DĐLĐ ükrü ASLAN * Özet Fiziksel mekanları birbirine bağlama i’levi olan köprüler, çe’itli bağlantı yollarının kesi’tiği bir zihinsel kar’ılık da in’a ederler. Böylece gerçek hayatta olduğu gibi zihin dünyasında da köprülerin birle’tirici/ayrı’tırıcı i’levleri izlenebilir. Bu bağlamda toplumsal/mekansal sonuçları kadar Đstanbul Boğazında in’a edilmi’ iki köprü üzerine üretilen dile bakmak oldukça ilgi çekicidir. Đstanbul için bir ihtiyaç olduğu vurgusu, projelendirilmesi ve in’ası ulusal sınırların dı’ında kurgulandığı halde köprülerin, birer “milli simge” olarak zihinlerimizde yer alması bu dil ve söylemle mümkün olabilmi’tir. Köprülerin mekansal/toplumsal etkileri de genellikle bu dilin gölgesinde kalmı’tır. Bu makalede iki Boğaz Köprüsü üzerine üretilen dil ve söylemin nitelikleri irdelenecek; köprülerin sanal ve gerçek i’levleri tartı’ılacaktır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Kentsel Mekan, Mekanın Temsiliyeti, Toplumsal Yansımalar, Boğaz Köprüleri Social Discourse Of Bosphorus Bridges In Istanbul With Their Connecting And Segregating Roles Abstract Connecting seperate physical spaces is not a unique function of bridges, they also construct mental counterparts in the form of intersection nodes of various linkage roads. Thus, it is possible to observe integrating and segregating roles of bridges in the mental world as well as in real life. Therefore it is very intriguing to look at the discourse developed on the both bridges built in Istanbul Bosphorus as well as social/spatial outcomes they are causing. Even though projects and construction of both bridges mentioned above designed abroad, becoming “national symbols” in our minds and strong emphasis on their necessity for Istanbul facilitated by this language and discourse. Social/spatial effects of these bridges are generally neglected in the shadow of this discourse. In this article it is going to be analysed the nature of the language and the discourse created on both bosphorus bridges and it is going to be debated their real and virtual functions.
