Since the workfarist turn, social policies acquired new characteristics tending towards subordination to the logic of the Marketplace which is to say they became subject to the reproduction of capital. To this end, a geographic perspective is taken from several studies examining new conigurations of social policies in the current framework restructuring the capitalist system. KEY WORDS. Workfare. Social policies. Subordination. Capitalism RESUMEN. En el artículo se realiza una presentación novedosa sobre las políticas del workfare. A partir del giro workfarista las políticas sociales adquieren nuevas carac- terísticas en las cuales existe una tendencia a encontrarse subordinadas a las lógicas del mercado, es decir sujetas a la reproducción del capital. Para ello, se recurre a una perspectiva geográica a partir de diversos estudios que analizan las nuevas conigu- raciones de las políticas sociales en el marco actual de restructuración del sistema ca- pitalista. Many authors consider this heuristic resource when characterising global socio-economic processes and explaining new concepts behind transformations in the capitalist state.
