ÖZET 19. yy.’da, Osmanlı nüfusuyla ilgili iki önemli kaynak ön plâna çıkmaktadır. Bunlardan biri; 1831, 1844, 1859/1860, 1881/1882 ve 1906/1907 dönemlerine ait Genel Nüfus Sayımları, bir dieri de 1847 yılında yayımlanmaya balayan Devlet ve 1866 yılında yayımlanmaya balayan Vilayet Salnameleri(Yıllıklar)’dir. Bu kaynaklardan; nüfusun miktarı, hane sayısı, dinî yapısı, cinsiyet özellikleri ve köy nüfusları ile ilgili çeitli bilgileri edinmek mümkün olmaktadır. 19. yy.’da yapılan Genel Nüfus Sayımları dıında, toplam 28 adet yayımlanan Konya Vilayet Salnamesinden, Hamit Sancaına ve Hamidâbât Kazasına ait nüfus verileri edinilebilmektedir. Bu çalımada, 1871, 1896 Vilayet Salnamelerinden ve 1917 yılına ait bir ariv belgesinden yararlanarak edinilen köy verileri ile yapılan haritalar üzerinde nüfus sayısı ve yıllık nüfus artı oranları gösterilmitir. Nüfusun genel yapısında olduu gibi nüfusun dinî ve cinsiyet özellikleri de dönemler itibariyle incelenmi ve Hamidâbât Kazasının 19. yy.’da ve 20. yy.’ın ilk çeyreindeki nüfus yapısı ortaya konulmutur. Anahtar Kelimeler: Hamit, Hamidâbât, Nüfus, Nüfus Sayımı, Salnameler. ABSTRACT Two important sources relating with population of the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century come up. One of these is the General Census of years of 1831, 1844, 1859/1860, 1881/1882 and 1906/1907, the other one is that the State Salnames was published in 1847 onwards and the Province Salnames was also published in 1866. It’s possible to have an idea on the amount of the population, the number of households, the structure of its religion, gender characteristics and village population by using these sources. Total 28 published Salnames as well as the 19th century census give us information about the population of Hamit Sub-Province and Hamidâbât District. In this study, Thanks to the 1871 and 1896 State Salnames and archives of the year 1917 it’s shown the number of village population, and the annual population growth in these maps. Like examine the general structure of the population, religion and gender of its people, so by doing this, we have put forward the structure of the population of Hamidâbât District in 19th and the earlier 20th centuries.
