THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURİNG TUNGSTEN The process of manufacturing tungsten involves several steps.First, tungsten is extracted from ore in order to obtain APT by crushing.Crushing method is used at this step because tradional smelng cannot be performed for tungsten is the highest melng point of all metals. The second step to be taken is processing APT for creang püre tungsten powder by roasng in hydrogen atmosphere. Aſter tungsten powder is siſted, it is pressed by loading a fixed amount into steel mold press for compacng into cohesive but fragile bar. Next , the bar is heated at high temperature to consolidate material(%60-70) in a furnace with hydrogen atmosphere.Then , the bar is reheated in order to densify to 85-90% and shrink by 15% in a special water-cooled bole by passing through electric current.The outcome is tungsten crystals within bar.The next step is shaping bar in a swager.The bar is shaped for elonging crystals and creang fibrous structure with hammer rod unl between 25 and 10 inches. Aſter that the bar is lubraced by passing rod through a container of oil.Before the packaging and distribung for serving various industries , the wires drow by polling wires of .0005 inches through dies made of tungsten carbide .
