Ujjania, Kamlesh Borana Received 7 December 2015 ; Accepted 2 January 2016 ; Published online 8 March 2016 Abstract The present study was deals with water quality index (WQI) of Sarangpani Lake from July to December 2007 in Bhopal (MP). In the present study it was observed that water quality index of lake water excellent (48.08) for fish culture. The assessment of correlation coefficient (r) between all parameters of sampling stations (S 1 and S 2 ). A systematic correla- tion coefficient (r) is perfect / high significance (0.8 < r < 1.0) level with positive relationship between all parameters. Water quality index based on physic- chemical parameters indicate that water quality of lake is suitable for fish culture and drinking purpose. Lake is a most important resources because scarcity of some area of earth. It is generally considered least polluted compare to other water re- sources. The major problem with the lake is imple- mented by rainy water or other feeding sources that once contaminated, it is defaulted restore its quality. Hence there is a need and concern for the protection and management of water quality. A systematic study of correlation coefficients of the water quality param- eters helps to assess the water quality and water qual- ity index (WQI) best tool for identyfy the intent use of specific purpose. The main object of this study was water quality index (WQI) for fish culture purpose of Sarangpani Lake, with correlation coefficient (r) significance of the level.
