In this situation, to satisfy the user need, different technologies, tools, services are came. Information mashup is one of the service which is also the central idea of web 2.0 tools. It is on the fly integration of remixing of data from different databases seamlessly without changing their original content. combination, visualization, and aggregation are the three main characteristics of the Information mashup to make existing data more useful, for personal and professional use. By using this web 2.0 tools libraries and information centers can provide alerting service, Table of content service, Harvesting service, OPAC service to their users, And at the same time also be able to maintain all the five laws of library science. 1. Introduction : Now a days the way of activities in library and information center are being changed rapidly with the advancement of technology. Traditional way of library services are characterized by card catalogues, Brown charging system, manual entries in accession lists, shelf register, CAS (Current Awareness Service) by News paper clipping service etc. But after the advancement of different softwares and Internet facilities library and information centers are changing their traditional way of activities into modern way. Previously when different softwares came, then libraries uses different commercial softwares. Commercial softwares are characterized by their cost involved in purchasing process. And these commercial softwares are not freely distributed in our society. As budget of libraries like our developing countries are very limited so it is not a economic solutions for the libraries so that they can use commercial softwares randomly. At that situation, when open source softwares came into the market then it will able to provide a light on this critical situations as no cost involves in the using of open source softwares.
