It is frequently found that students are lack of enthusiasm and motivation in such classrooms. As a result, they are reluctant to participate in the classrooms. The problems should be overcome. What should an English teacher do? There are some alternatives that can be chosen, First, he or she should have a good understanding of how to teach English well especially for young learners. In fact, many English teachers do not realize it. Second, she or he should use interesting media since the media are important to support teaching- learning process. Through interesting media, she or he will increase students’ participation in learning. Third, the English teacher should increase his or her creativity in providing his or her students with better teaching materials. Among the three alternatives, using media can be a solution. What types of media can an English teacher choose. One of the possibilities is using video to teach English, including to young language learners. There are several principles to follow when using video in teaching English to the young learners. They are: first, having a good preparation; second, choosing an appropriate and interesting video; third, preparing other hard-wares like in-focus and laptop to support the use of the video. How to use video to teach English? It will be explained in detail in the full paper. Introduction In this modern era, teaching English to foreign language learners is more challenging for English teachers. The rapid changes happening outside of the classrooms require the teachers to constantly look for innovative idea to enhance the language teaching and learning processes in their classrooms. It is a fact that many foreign language learners are lack of enthusiasm and motivation in learning the language despite its importance. Some of them think that “Learning English is boring” and as a result, they do not participate well in the classroom. The students‟ lack of enthusiasm, and motivation might be caused by some factors. First, the teachers might use monotonous teaching techniques. As a matter of fact, as teachers, they should know their students well and know what teaching techniques they
