E-mail: tnlaktionova@ukr.net Abstract The structure and major characteristics of the multi-purpose Soil Database «Ukrainian Soil properties’» created on basis of results and outcomes of years-long soil surveys, as well as analysis of soil samples and mapping the soil resources in Ukraine, are presented in this paper. Attributive data for at least 2075 soil profiles have been orderly classified and distributed across nine individual topicality tables. A key field in each table is an ordinal No. of a soil profile; and such the provision ensures stable links between profile sets of attributive data, on one hand, and geo- spatial units on the other. Major indicators of soil properties are designated; whereby coding the soils’ names involves, along with code- symbols of Ukrainian Soil Classification, those from the WRB classification as well. Main results of scientific proceedings, including those implemented within associated International projects (carried out with processing the relevant data), are listed in this paper. Key words: database, attributive data, soil properties, profile. 1. Introduction The “Ukrainian Soil Properties” Data Base (the UkrSPDB) is created on materials of research from field surveys for properties of agricultural soils, accomplished by scientists of the “Institute for Soil Science and Agrochemistry Research named after O.N. Sokolowsky” (NSC ISSAR), and on available bibliography published by soil researchers from other institutions (totally 60 references).
