Worp proposes sorne corrections to a private letter (P.Mich. inv. 3724), published by P.J. Sijpesteijn in Miscel-lania Papirológica Ramoll Roca-Puíg, Barcelona 1987, pp. 313-316, and conc1udes saying that 'der Brief kann ein rnehr offizieller Kondolenzbrief sein' (p.180). The following lines airn to discuss to what extent this rnay be possible or whether the letter is a request for sorne rnaterials and personal goods, perhaps in relation to sorne funerary activities. 1 P.Mich.inv. 3724, (9.8 x 10.5 cm.) is described by the editor as a rnediurn brown papyrus irregularly broken off at the lOp, but fairly regularly on the other sides. lts provenance is unknown.
