With setting and context of the story all about Japan, or it is commonly called the Japanese novel (although I usually called this genre, the look like Japan product novel). This study aims to describe a form of discourse analysis based on discourse and text describing the factors that affect the practice of discourse. This research is qualitative research. Using the theory of Van Dijk of critical discourse analysis (CDA) and its relevance to the socio-cultural. The results describe that, first, critical discourse analysis showed the cohesion of meaning between the informative text to an another informative text. Built by each of the different characters, but contains an informative discourse aimed at same purpose. Second, the creation of a deficiency in the use of the phrase is used to ensure that the main character is the Japanese youth peoples so that the message delivered is not intact or incorrect. Last, the lack of a list containing the glossary term Japanese, smart to using chunks of translation (both clauses, vocabulary, or phrases) are tucked between the Japanese text after the term was used or mentioned. Introduction This paper discusses what structures and strategies, used by Tangguh Alam as the writer to build the image of Japan. Used critical discourse analysis, I examined properties of text, verbal interaction, and cultural context, which related with Japan image. The Ŷoǀel I Đhose is “eishuŶ Ŷo taďi. “eishuŶ Ŷo taďi –youth journey- (2013) is a novel written by Tangguh Alam. This novel tells the story of an adventurous journey of Harayuki Ashiya with Akira to get her grandfather's heritance of 800 billion yen. As the young adult fiction novel (light novel) in general, this is a teen style romance adventure novel. But the interesting thing in this novel (so I intend to examine) is the author attempts to convince the reader that the novel is a Japanese novel; the characters are really Japanese youth peoples, which is use Japanese youth peoples of viewpoint. This novel contains many informative texts that describe Japanology –all about Japan-, either through the main character, as well as other supporting characters. I found some interesting things such as using paragraph within Japanese vocabularies with translation in the different paragraph (1 until 2 paragraph after Japanese vocabulary used). That makes a reader who doesn't know about Japan must be properly to read so it can make the reader understand that used Japanese vocabularies mean. In this paper, the result will follow; Cohesion of Meaning, Incorrectness Delivered Messages, and Chunks of Translation. Method The qualitative research method is a diverse set, encompassing approaches, such as empirical phenomenology, grounded theory, ethnography, protocol analysis, and discourse analysis ( Elliot and Timulak, 2005 : 147).
