Simi- larly, the growth in global communications is driven by the CE sector to a large extent, as today’s CE serves as platforms for data consumption in different forms. Information and communications tech- nologies (ICTs) also play an important role in the collec- tion and creation of data in electronic form, as they facilitate data processing for communication and recep- tion. CE and ICTs together contribute significantly to the international gross domestic product (GDP).
