Pupae of Simuliidae were collected from some running waters in the Eastern Black Sea Region of Turkey in 2008 and 2009. 2. Thirteen species were recorded from 41 sites. A pupa identiication key was provided for these Simuliidae species and igures were also illustrated. 3. The identiication of Simuliidae specimens, like the other bethic macroinvertebrate taxa, at species level is important for EU Water Framework Directive studies. This study was a preliminary for further systematic studies on Simuliidae. KEY WORDS: Eastern Black Sea region, European Union Water Framework Directive (WFD), fauna, identiication key, running water, Simuliidae, Turkey.
