Mesnevi tarzının Türk edebiyatındaki ilk örneği olan söz konusu eser bu form içinde sözlü gelenekten alınmı ş başka edebi ürünleri de bünyesinde taşımaktadır. Bunlardan en belirgin olanları atasözleri olmakla birlikte, yer yer yaşla ilgili olan beyitlerde bir yaşname havası sezinlenmektedir. İ ncelememiz çerçevesinde yaş meselesine sadece Kutadgu Bilig’deki beyitlerin bir yaşname olup olmadı ğı yönünde değil, insandaki fizyolojik deği şiklikler, yaşa göre yeme ve içme, yaşa göre rüya ve bunun yorumlanması ve merdiven motifi bağlamında da bakılacaktır. ABSTRACT Kutadgu Bilig, the most important work of the literary environment of Karakhanid Turkish, is not only a work that reveals the linguistic characteristics of his era, but also it is also of great value because it includes all the documents of the Turkish culture in that specific basin. This work, which is the first example of Mesnevi style in Turkish literature, carries other literary products in this form taken from oral tradition. The most prominent of these are the proverbs and as a whole, the text make us sense that it was the age of the epic when the couplets are considered. We cannot examine the couplets in Kutadgu Bilig, not only according to whether they are examples of the age of the epic or not, but also by focusing on the physiological changes because of aging such as the lines on the face, eating and drinking habits due to changes in one’s age and specific elements such as dream interpreting and stairs.
