Motiva- se por uma hipótese de que, no tocante ao material antigo, o horizonte de expectativas é constituído pelo referencial “clássico”, um mutável paradigma hermenêutico usado para conciliar a alteridade entre o material antigo e as expectativas modernas. Abstract: This work presents a history of the literary evolution of the myth of Ulysses from pre-Homeric elements to contemporary experiences. It is aligned with proposals of literary historiography focused in “Reception”. The depth of the analyses performed in it will be in accordance to the limits of its extension. This paper is motivated by the following hypothesis: the material given to us by Antiquity is expected to constitute the referential known as “The Classics”; however, this is a changeable hermeneutic paradigm used to conciliate the otherness between the ancient material and the modern expectations.
