It also highlighted the impact of ICT in the provision of efficient and effective academic libraries services which are indispensable requirement for teaching/learning styles and needs in the present digital and electronic environment in the Nigeria higher education institutions. The major are ICT based library services that are supporting teaching and learning have been briefly discussed. The major argument of this paper was that ICT integration especially at the higher educational institution in Nigeria is as imperative as the teacher himself both within and outside the classroom. This is because without access to systematically selected, organized mass of knowledge and information resources that are universally accessible through ICT based resources and services no effective teaching and learning can be achieved. Hence the paper concluded by enumerating some of the major challenges that currently impedes effective integration of ICT into Nigeria libraries. Thus as a way forward some suggestions were made. Introduction Academic Libraries are the repository of learning resources, they provides different services to students, researchers and scholars. The role of any academic library is to provide services to support the teaching and learning programmes of higher education institution.
