The fertilizer sector is undoubtedly one of the most affected by this approval. The measures agreed within this reform will directly impact domestic production, the quantity of imports and, above all, the demand for these products. The aim of this paper is to analyze the current and future situation of the sector, in order to study the economic impact of this reform and alternatives concerning the present situation live existing and emerging companies in this market. D43, M21, D47 Resumen La reforma energética traerá consigo grandes cambios en la economía de México, debido principalmente a la incursión de la iniciativa privada -tanto nacional como extranjera- en la explotación y comercialización de productos petroquímicos. El sector de los fertilizantes es, sin duda, uno de los más afectados por esta aprobación. Las medidas pactadas dentro de esta reforma impactarán directamente a la producción nacional, la cantidad de importaciones y, sobre todo, a la demanda de estos productos. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la situación actual y futura de este sector, con la finalidad de estudiar el impacto económico de esta reforma, así como presentar alternativas referentes a la situación que vivirán las empresas existentes y emergentes en este mercado. Palabras clave: Fertilizantes; México; Reforma energética 1. INTRODUCTION The world population has undergone major changes throughout its existence. However, it is about to face one of the toughest challenges never before experienced by the human race, the overpopulation of the planet. It faces a global cycle that will bring social and economic complications, visible mainly in countries with weak economies with high rates of poverty and marginalization issues. This paper focuses on the amount of food
