En la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, a partir de octubre de 2015, se comenzó a implementar una unidad curricular relacionada con el ambiente, denominada Ecología, Ambiente y Sustentabilidad que se imparte a todos los estudiantes de pregrado en el cuarto semestre de sus diferentes carreras. En el presente estudio exploratorio se evaluó la percepción del cambio climático de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ingeniería de dicha universidad, sede Montalbán-Caracas, que habían cursado, al menos, el 90 % de la asignatura. Se concluye que los estudiantes consultados le dan importancia al ambiente, consideran que este está amenazado y que es necesario abordar su preservación como un problema inmediato y urgente; opinan que el compromiso ecológico ha aumentado en los últimos años y que dicho compromiso está en aumento. Por otra parte, perciben un cambio en el clima en los últimos tiempos debido tanto a actividades humanas como a fenómenos naturales y consideran que la vida en nuestro planeta se ve amenazada por dichos cambios, los cuales ya están visibles. Palabras Clave: Cambio climático, Percepción del cambio climático, Ingeniería, Estrategia curricular Perception of Climate Change in Engineering Students at the Cátolica Andrés Bello University: Chair in Ecology, Environment and Sustainability Abstract: The environment, and in particular climate change, is an issue of global concern because of the diversity of problems that are occurring and the deterioration of the planet. At the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, beginning in October 2015, an environment-related curriculum unit, Ecology, Environment and Sustainability, was introduced to all undergraduate students in the fourth semester of their different careers. In the present exploratory study the perception of the climate change of the students of the Faculty of Engineering of that university, Montalbán - Caracas headquarters, who had studied at least 90% of the subject, was evaluated. It is concluded that the students consulted give importance to the environment, consider that it is threatened and that it is necessary to approach its preservation as an immediate and urgent problem; they believe that the ecological commitment has increased in the last years and that commitment is increasing. On the other hand, they perceive a change in the climate in recent times due to both human activities and natural phenomena and consider that life on our planet is threatened by these changes, which are already visible.
