ABSTRACT
The Relay Module is a device that switches power to auxiliary devices. Use relay
modules to control switched devices and appliances like lighting, heating, air
conditioning, pumps, motors, dampers, elevators, door locks, door releases, and
grounds irrigation equipment, all from computer system keypads by interfacing
raspberry pi model B. By integrating relay outputs into an intrusion, fire alarm, panic,
or access control system, the system creates a nervous system for the building,
allowing facility systems to sense status of doors, windows, and occupancy to
distribute services to rooms or departments as needed. This is essential for cost
control for facilities small and large. Here in this paper, relay has been controlled
through Raspberry Pi Model B, in order to control home appliances for home
automation. By using a home automation system, we can save a lot of time to operate
home appliances from anywhere without wasting time to move from office to home for
just unlocking door for family members to enter the home.

1. INTRODUCTION

century. It is necessary to control the home from desire location.
Home automation is the control of any electrically and electronics device in our home and
office, whether we are there or away. There are hundreds of products available that allow us
to control over the devices automatically with using raspberry pi model either by remote
control or even by webpage. Home automation refers to the application of computer and
information technology for control of home appliances easily and reducing the power
consumption or the power wastage associated with the manual system. Its application varies
