El estudio es de enfoque cualitativo, paradigma interpretativo en una dimensión ontológica desde el relativismo y epistemológicamente desde el construccionismo social, haciendo uso del método fenomenológico - hermenéutico. Entre los principales hallazgos se devela un nuevo saber hacer desde la práctica gerencial, emergiendo un estilo neogerencial que imbrica cambios determinantes, de allí que el coordinador debe prepararse, aprender, desaprender y reaprender esta nueva gerencia praxiológica; el número de investigaciones e investigadores no van a la proporción con los docentes adscritos a la UCLA; carece de relaciones y alianzas fuertes y continuas que garanticen la ejecución de los proyectos. De allí que el constructo teórico aportado es el inicio de un conocimiento en construcción. Descriptores: función investigación, praxiología gerencial, UCLA. MANAGING THE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH FROM NEW HORIZONS ABSTRACT: This article aims to know, understand and interpret the meanings and signifiers that give the seven coordinators and research director in its expertise management, from praxiological management within the function research Lisandro Alvarado University (UCLA). The study is qualitative approach, interpretive paradigm in an ontological dimension from relativism and epistemologically from social constructionism, using the phenomenological method hermeneutical. Among the main findings is unveiled a new knowhow from management practice, emerging a style that interweaves neogerencial decisive changes, hence the coordinator must prepare, learn, unlearn and relearn this new management praxiological; he number of investigations and investigators are not in proportion with the UCLA assigned to teachers; It lacks strong and continuous relationships and partnerships that guarantee the implementation of projects. Hence the theoretical construct made is the beginning of knowledge under construction. Key words: research function, management praxiology, UCLA
