Introduction to Poetry Poetry is a practical form of literature that needs appreciation and to be enjoyed. It is therefore important for the readers to put themselves in the shoe of the speaker and try to see the events or happenings in the poem as a personal experience. This view helps the readers to avoid over rating the events thus missing the important insights in the poem. Though it is examinable, poetry is meant to be for fun and for education purposes where a reader is able to get the feelings of other people on certain issues in the community. Having said this, it is important to realize that most learners are scared of poetry and regard it as the hardest. This notion is far from the truth. For this reason, this book tries to demystify poetry. Poetry-This is the study of poems Poem- I define a poem simply as feelings put on paper in verse form/stanza form.
