PITANJE INDIVIDUALNOЋTI ЊOBOVA I ŽENA U FILOZOFIJI LIBEЊALIГMA DŽONA ЋTJUARTA MILA I HERIJET TEJLOR MIL The issue of the paper concerns the meanings of the notion invidual considering its colloquial use as well as its historical-philosophical dimensions in philosophy of John Stuart Mill and Harriet Taylor Mill. The aim of this paper is to analyze Mill's philosophical work from various standpoints, especially including women and black people as individuals. The demarcation line will be based on the facts showing whether individual is treated as an individual, free human being or not. Is an individual substantially individual, or is there any legitimate reason why one could be deprived of that substantiality? The reason why applying these demarcation lines as an epistemological and methodological framework, lies in the very meaning of the concept of the individual which should include all people universally. Everyone is, or, at least, should be considered as an individual. However, cultural and historical practice, various social hierarchies, contemporary experience, as well as ambivalences in Mill's philosophy, tend to deny that meaning.
