ABSTRACT The study of the archives of the Pelagonia Metropolis and especially of this part that concerns the operation of the High School is of an outstanding importance , not only because brings to light the course and the character of an educational institution during a critical period , but especially because reflects ,in the educational action level, the considerations, the experimentations and the retrogressions which take place in the Greek State and which are characterized both as modernization and counter-reformation . The extensions of this educational effort of a significant , potential and large Greek Community which did not belong to the area of the Greek State and the selections in the directions of the educational policy that had to be implemented represent an important corpus of theoretical rules and practical contradictions. The ideological origins of this corpus have to be investigated in similar considerations, experimentations and retrogressions of the Greek State. 1.
