In the contemporary world, the loss is real. One can lose their loved ones in terms of death or break-up, their gifts, and even their valued properties (Elizabeth 78). Poets have majorly employed the use of loss personas in their poetry works, to bring the real context of loss in the minds of the people. However, musicians on the other hand, through their songs have also touched several souls worldwide by conveying the same theme in the heads of many by their song’s relics. A piece of literature termed “Mad Girl’s Love Song” by Sylvia Plath presents to the listeners a sorrowful message felt whenever one happens to lose his or her loved one. Conversely, it relates to a message from another song relics, “She’s out of My Life” by Michael Jackson. This paper, therefore, aims at determining the connection of losing as a theme portrayed by two pieces of literature works by Sylvia Plath and Michael Jackson to their listeners and followers. Sylvia Plath in her poem entitled “Mad girl’s love song” expresses love in a misery and hopelessness way.
