Assim, é instituída a Licenciatura em Educação Básica (LEB), voltada à formação de Educadores de Infância e Professores do 1º ao 3º ciclo do Ensino Básico, aliada às Especialidades, seu aporte institucional e curricular, sendo regulamentada pela Portaria nº 11/2015, em conformidade com o Decreto-Legislativo nº 2/2010 que revê as Bases do Sistema Educativo. O presente estudo propõe-se a contextualizar historicamente a LEB e analisar elementos de seu currículo, utilizando como metodologia a análise documental. Os resultados apontam para a LEB como contributo para consecução do direito à educação, através da formação inicial de professores com qualidade acadêmica, pertinência educacional e social. Abstract In order to strengthen higher education and enhance teacher training, the University Institute of Education (Instituto Universitário de Educação-IUE) was invested by Decree-Law no. 17/2012, of the mission of initial, ongoing, ongoing training and retraining of the necessary agents to the educational system Of Cape Verde. The results point to the LEB as a contribution to the achievement of the right to education through the initial training of teachers with academic quality, educational and social relevance.
