Hatta tarihi gerçekler çeşitli mucizevi içeriklerle süslense de tarihe ait bilgileri de korumaktadır. Türk edebiyatında önemli bir yere sahip olan destan kahramanla- rı, milletlerin ideallerini, yaşam felsefelerini, inançlarını taşıyan örnek kişilerdir. Türk destanlarının tarihle paralellik gösterdiği de müşahede edilmektedir. Bu destanlarda efsanevi bir şekilde anlatılmakta olan kahramanlardan biri de sa- vaşçı Türk kadınlarıdır. Savaşçı Türk kadını hakkında ‘‘Kırk Kız’’ destanında bahsedilmektedir. Bu eserin izleri Türkî halkların folklorunda da önemli bir yere sahiptir. Ayrıca kahra- man Türk kadınının Türkî halkların tarihinde birer yönetici, yeri geldiğinde cengâver olanları mevcuttur. Hatta günümüzdeki arkeolojik bulgular Türk kadın- larının amazon kadınları ile benzerlikleri bulunduğuna işaret etmektedirler. Dola- yısıyla göçebe hayat sürdüren Türkî halkların savaş cephelerinde de bu kahra- man kadınlara rastlanmıştır. Bu makalede Kırk Kız destanına konu olan savaşçı Türk kadınları hakkında arkeolojik bulgular ve tarihi kayıtlar ışığında bilgi verile- cektir. Even if his- torical facts are embellished with various miraculous contents, the legends pre- serve the historical knowledge. The heroes of the legends are the example of people who carry the ideals, life philosophies, beliefs of nations. They have an important place in Turkic literature. It is also observed that the Turkic legends are going parallel to the history. One of the heroes of this legends are a Turkic warrior woman. The warrior Turkish woman is mentioned in the epic of "Forty Girls". The traces of this epic also have an important place in the folklore of Turkic people. Moreo- ver, in the history of the Turkic peoples the Turkish woman was represented both as a ruler and as a warrior. Even today, archeological finds suggest that Turkish women had similarities with some kind of amazon women. Therefore, these heroic women were encountered on the war fronts of the Turkic peoples who continued their nomadic life. In this article, we will consider the Turkic war- rior women, especially who were also the subject of the legend of the Forty Sis- ters, through the prism of archaeological and historical finds.
