113 RECÔNCAVO ISSN 2238 - 2127 Recôncavo: Revista de História da UNIABEU, Volume 8, Número 14, janeiro-junho de 2018 TEMPO E MAL-ESTAR: NOTAS INTRODUTÓRIAS SOBRE O INFORTÚNIO Diogo Cesar Nunes 1 RESUMO: O presente artigo pretende elaborar uma leitura da relação entre tempo, temporalidade, mal-estar e sofrimento, partindo da frase de Jean-Paul Sartre, presente em seu ensaio sobre O Som e a Fúria, de William Faulkner, que diz ser o “infortúnio” a marca da condição temporal do homem no mundo. Rejeitando qualquer ortodoxia teórica, busca-se uma interlocução entre fenomenologia e psicanálise que provoque aberturas interpretativas da condição humana e, em específico, dos modos de “sofrer” o tempo. Neste sentido, a notas que compõem o artigo traçam um caminho descontínuo de reflexões sobre a temporalidade, articulando algumas investidas na etimologia e na mitologia com contribuições de pensadores de diferentes orientações, como, além de Sartre, Martin Heidegger, Giorgio Agamben, Walter Benjamin e Sigmund Freud. ABSTRACT: This paper intends to mature an interpretation of the relationship between time, temporality, malaise and suffering, starting from the phrase of Jean-Paul Sartre that says: "Man's misfortune lies in being time-bound". Rejecting any theoretical orthodoxy, this paper proposes an interlocution between phenomenology and psychoanalysis that incites interpretation possibilities of the human condition and, specifically, of the ways to "suffer" the time. Therefore, the notes of this article outline, in a discontinuous way, reflections on temporality, articulating etymological and mythological investigations with contributions from intellectuals of different types of theoretical orientations as, for example, Sartre, Martin Heidegger, Giorgio Agamben, Walter Benjamin, and Sigmund Freud. Keywords: Time; Malaise; Misfortune. 1. “O INFORTÚNIO DO HOMEM É SER TEMPORAL” Em ensaio sobre O Som e a Fúria, de Faulkner, Sartre escreveu que “Le malheur de l’homme est d’être temporel” (SARTRE, 1989, p. 66). A tradutora brasileira de Situations, Cristina Prado, optou por empregar – seguindo a tradução do livro de Faulkner (1983), feita por Fernando Nuno Rodrigues – a palavra “infortúnio”: “o infortúnio do homem é ser temporal” (SARTRE, 2005, p. 94). No romance, “um homem é a soma dos seus infortúnios” – do original “un homme est la somme de ses propres malheurs" – é seguido por “um dia você poderia pensar que o infortúnio ficaria cansado, mas então o tempo se torna o seu infortúnio”. 1 Doutor e mestre em Psicologia Social (PPGPS-UERJ).
