An analysis of Diamond’s Supply Chain and Price Comparison Websites November 3, 2017 | Syed Shah Supply chain of the Diamond Diamond passes through three distinct stages and changes four to eight hands before making its way into the hands of the young couple who buy it for marking their engagement or a husband giving it to his wife on their anniversary (Bain & Co, 2013). Upstream consists of mining diamond from ground, sorting and then selling by the producer. After upstream diamonds make their way to the ‘middle-market stage’, which consists of cutting, polishing, and assembling them into jewellery. The diamond then enters the downstream stage, where sale of diamond is conducted and it goes into the end-user hands.
