ABSTRACT Throughout the history of the cinema a great variety of visual effects have been used (VFX) with the aim of astonishing, creating or diminishing the costs of representation of some artistic scenes. This work aims to investigate the technological transformations that have taken place in the computerized environment. In the same way, to understand the primitive cinematographic phase in its artistic and experimental side, in relation to the production and the animation as creative tool. Trying to show that the current visual effects have not left aside the traditional effects, but that has adapted them with new tools and new optimizations. The method used to expose this idea is based on the comparison of traditional effects-creation instruments and their current version. Key words: History of cinema, visual effects, VFX, computerized environment, traditional effects, production. 1. Introduction Today the creation of special and visual effects is focused, most of the time in the use of computer-editing programs, and creators must always be aware of the latest updates as technology advances, thus learning the use of the most outstanding programs in that area. On the other hand, because as I will try to sustain at the end of the work, I believe that they continue to share the same concerns that once. 1.1 Field of Study Giving life to everything that imagination can conceive is not available to everyone. In film, television and video games a good part of that responsibility falls on the shoulders of the visual effect’s expert, one of the key figures when conceiving a large part of the worlds and impossible physics that flood our favorite fictions. 1.2 Assignments definition Visual effects are the different ways in which images are created or manipulated out of live recording. They involve the integration of live streams and generated images to create environments that look realistic, scenes that would be dangerous, too expensive or simply impossible to record on film. To create the visual effects, computer-generated images or computer-generated imagery (CGI) are used. 1.3 Claims of the project The purpose of the work is to expose what is meant by visual effects, from the very invention of the cinema, and the transformations that these have had since their origin. Based on this main idea, to show that the changes always respond to a renewal of the previous systems, improving and adapting them to the new times and demands. To do this, it is part of a contextualization section in which a current definition of visual effect is exposed. From this, a trip to the past is set up trying to understand its meaning at the beginning of the century, in order to situate the change, if there has been, in time and to analyze it. 1.4 Objective Specific: To make known if any of the main traditional visual effects are still maintained. General: Try to compare the effects of yesteryear with other similar current effects, in order to demonstrate that the visual effects are the same from the beginning only that even have been consumer goods today. 1.5 The scope and limitations of the project The decision has been taken to limit the analysis to the simple process of change (or evolution) of the visual effects. Although the
