(Received on: July 22, 2014) ABSTRACT In this paper, a new class of sets called (τ i , τ j )-rw-closed sets are introduced in bitopological spaces. A subset A of a bitopological space (X, τ 1 , τ 2 ) is said to be (τ i , τ j )-rw-closed set if τ j -cl(A)⊂G and G⊂RSO(X, τ i ), where {i, j}∈{1, 2} are fixed integers. This new class of sets properly lies between the class of (τ i , τ j )-w-closed sets and the class of (τ i , τ j )-rg-closed sets. INTRODUCTION The triple (X, τ 1 , τ 2 ) where X is a set and τ 1 and τ 2 are topologies on X is called a bitopological space. Kelly 6 initiated the systematic study of such spaces in 1963. He generalized the topological concepts to bitopological setting and published a large number of papers. Following the work of Kelly on the bitopological spaces, various authors, like Fukutake 3 , Nagaveni 9 , Maki, Sundaram and Balachandran 8 , Sheik John 14 , Gnanambal 5 , Reilly 12 , Rajamani and Viswanthan 11 , and Popa 10 have turned their attention to the various concepts of topology by considering bitopological spaces instead of topological spaces. Recently, Benchalli and Wali 2 introduced and studied the properties of rw- closed sets in topological spaces.
