Ces deux entités, condamnées à coexister dans les Etats africains postcoloniaux vivent une cohabitation conflictuelle qui prend leurs membres en étau entre des sollicitations différentes, voire contradictoires. Considérant les relations entre ces deux entités comme des relations intergroupes, la présente analyse fait recours aux principales approches théoriques des relations intergroupes (théorie des conflits réels, théorie de l’auto-catégorisation sociale, théorie de l’identité sociale et théorie de la dominance sociale) pour en rendre compte. Dans la perspective de la dominance de groupe notamment, elle va au-delà de l’analyse des conflits Etat- tribu, pour s’intéresser à la coexistence chaotique des tribus au sein de l’Etat. Abstract This article presents a meta-analysis of one of the headlights problems in Charles Robert Dimi’ work: relations between the State and the tribe. These two entities, condemned to coexist in the post-colonial African States, live a conflict cohabitation which takes their members out of vice between different, even contradictory requests. Considering the relations between these two entities as intergroup relations, the present analysis uses the main theoretical models of intergroup relations (real conflict theory, theory of self categorization, theory of social identity and theory of social dominance) to give an account of these relations. In the group dominance perspective in particular, it goes beyond the analysis of the State-tribe conflicts, to analyze the chaotic coexistence of tribes within the State.
