ABSTRACT
The police are figures that are highlighted, because the their task that force them to always
in direct contact with the community. The lack of police in practicing moral principles and
professional codes of ethics in themselves which resulted in the continuing violations committed by
members of the Police. A Police officer has the potential to perform various irregularities due to
his/her enormous authority. For the officers of INP, this became one of the trigger in carrying out
their functions and roles to perform actions/attitudes/behavior that violates the Discipline
Regulation and Code of Ethics Police Profession itself. Therefore in this case the police should be
more assertive in law enforcement against violations committed, with the aim of further improving
the professionalism of its members.
The purpose of writing this article was to know the handling of violations of discipline and
code of ethics police profession and the implementation impediments of sanctions for some
unscrupulous personnel of Police who do repeat offense as much as 3 times or more. This research
was a normative legal research with approach method of legislation. Technique of collecting data
in this research was done by library study, interview and observation.
Law enforcement efforts for police officers who violate the discipline and professional
code of ethics that existed in the Yogyakarta Police Agency and the ranks have been done according
to the stages arranged. However, in the case of the implementation of disrespect dismissal
recommendation was experiencing weaknesses in the rules made by the Polri institution itself,
which resulted in some police officers disregarding the rules and regulations to be non-functional.
Furthermore, there has been no police that can be given sanctions of disrespect dismissal for
violations of discipline as much as 3 times or more until now.
