Research Locale The research locale of the study comprises of the places where the study took place. The researchers focused on the GAS students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV); a locally-funded university that caters to students from low-income families, especially those that reside in the city, which is located at a government building within the vicinity of the old municipal complex of Valenzuela (Poblacion II, Malinta, Valenzuela City). In response to the increasing need of Valenzuelanos for an affordable, accessible and reputable institution of higher learning , Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV) was established on June 5, 2002 and formally opened on June 24 at the same year. It offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs to the less fortunate but deserving students of the city. For the benefit of more high school graduates in Valenzuela, year 2008 when PLV added an annex building in accordance to the city resolution no. 194 series of 2008 located at Maysan Road, Malinta, Valenzuela. In 2018, the quest for high-quality tertiary education in Valenzuela City progresses, as they open another PLV campus on Tongco Street, Barangay Maysan. It started as a polytechnic college limited to a few choice courses. Now, eleven years after its foundation, the university has moved on to offer a wider array of courses ranging from business, education, engineering, and computer courses.
