SIEBENBÜRGISCH-RUMÄNISCHE GRUNDSCHULLEHRER IM ERSTEN WELTKRIEG IOAN POPA * Dascăli români transilvăneni în Primul Război Mondial Ca orice elită, în cadrul Primului Război Mondial dascălii români transilvăneni au fost activi atât pe câmpul de bătălie, cât și pe frontul de acasă, oscilând între datoria cetățenească și idealul național. Cel mai mult au avut de suferit dascălii din Făgăraș și Sibiu, comitate aflate la granița cu România, cu tradiții puternice în mișcarea națională. Ancheta realizată de ASTRA în anul 1922 poate furniza date valoroase despre fenomenele sociale din timpul Primului Război Mondial. Studiul de caz dedicat corpului didactic evidențiază destinul favorabil al acestei elite în contextul războiului precum și statutul său în mediul rural, la începutul secolului XX. Romanian Transylvanian Teachers during World War I Like any elite, during World War I Romanian Transylvanian teachers were active both on the battlefield and on the home front, wavering between civil duty and the national ideal. The teachers in Făgăraș și Sibiu, the comitates close to the border to Romania, that had strong traditions in the national movement, had to suffer the most from it. The survey conducted by ASTRA in 1922 can provide valuable data about the social phenomena during World War I. The case study dedicated to the teaching staff points out the favourable destiny of this elite in the context of the war and its status in the rural milieu at the beginning of the 20th century. PRÄZISIERUNGEN ZU METHODOLOGIE UND QUELLEN Ziel des Aufsatzes, Methode und Hauptdokumentationsquelle. Der vorliegende Aufsatz beabsichtigt, die Auswirkungen des Ersten Weltkrieges auf die sozial- berufliche Kategorie der siebenbürgisch-rumänischen Grundschullehrer hervorzuheben. Die methodologische Herangehensweise ist überwiegend quantitativ, zur Kalibrierung der Ergebnisse wurden aber auch qualitative Analysen aufgegriffen.
