Survey method was adopted as the research design, while data were gathered using the questionnaire. It was found that the respondents have knowledge of the social media alleged sex video scandal of Chidinma Okeke and majority of the respondents sourced the news of the alleged sex video scandal from Facebook. Findings also showed that most respondents believed the alleged social media sex video. Based on the findings, it was concluded that Awka residents have knowledge of the scandal and believed the alleged social media sex video scandal. The researchers recommended that users should be cautious of some of the contents they accept on social media as unprincipled users have been found to post deceitful information to the public.
