This issue, far from what it might seem, points to a central qu- estion: what is Ortega’s philosophy? Very different, and sometimes contradictory, an- swers have been given to this question, thus giving rise to very diverse “readings” of Ortega’s work. In this paper I offer if not a systematization, at least a classifcation and categorization of different “readings of Or- tega” [this last claim has to be interpreted both as subjective and objective genitive]. This analysis, which is in principle methodo- logical, turns out to be essential to discern strictly philosophical issues, such as the role of the Estimative [or Axiology] in Ortega’s phenomenological ethics. In the same way, it is useful to address the question raised here, that is, to establish with precision what is the philosophical paradigm of Ortega beyond its “sources” and “infuences”. Keywords: José Ortega y Gasset Phenom- enology Axiology Estimative Science Ethics La relación de José Ortega y Gasset con la fenomenología sigue siendo un tema discutido entre los intérpretes del flóso- fo español. Esta temática, lejos de lo que pudiera parecer, apunta a una cuestión central: ¿cuál es la flosofía de Ortega? A esta pregunta se han dado respuestas muy diferentes [incluso contradictorias entre sí], dando lugar a “lecturas” muy diversas de la obra orteguiana. En este trabajo me propongo ofrecer, si no una sistematización, sí, al menos, una clasif- cación y categorización de las distintas “lecturas de Ortega” [en genitivo sub- jetivo y objetivo]. Este análisis, siendo, en principio, metodológico, resulta im- prescindible para discernir cuestiones estrictamente flosófcas, tales como el papel de la Estimativa [o Axiología] en la ética fenomenológica orteguiana. O, retomando la cuestión anterior, para es- tablecer con precisión cuál sea el para- digma flosófco de Ortega más allá de sus “fuentes” e “infuencias”.
