64 Creation of Job Opportunities through Self-Help Groups, Donors and Philanthropist Forming a Poor’s Bank: A suggested Model for Poverty Reduction Gobind M. Herani, Muhammad Saleem Mugheri and Avinash Advani Abstract Attempt has been made to suggest a new model for creation of a poor’s bank through which poverty can be reduced. Literature review of poverty reduction, self-help groups, donors’ studies and community participation, Zidisha organizations, Grameen Bank Model, and Philanthropists shows that people were helping each other in groups themselves, through philanthropists and donors. Lending through banks and micro financing are the recent concepts. These self-help activities and recent concepts of micro financing are tools which are helping a lot, but organizing these activities properly and transparently is somewhat difficult to encourage this activity at maximum level. Conclusion drawn from literature is that, to overcome the difficulty in transparency needed a new thought and brainstorming. A new model has been developed to overcome the difficulty in handling the activities at cost efficiency and transparently to motivate donors, philanthropists and community to participate at maximum level. Applying this model a poor’s bank will come into existence after the observing the successful activities of this model which will motivate global attention towards this system and reduce poverty. As Pakistan is on first number in philanthropy and Pakistani people will participate in this system along with international donors. Introduction Community participation and collaboration is attitudes and behaviors of human being. It is one of the important research topics in the literature of community development. This framework is conceptually and empirically supported by many researchers. However, many conceptual and empirical challenges on this framework are existed and needs time to time be revised and updated using latest technology to be more productive and cost efficient. It is observed that since centuries when people learned to live in groups they are working in groups and following their own culture and traditional rules. They learned to collaborate and make protect themselves and their common properties. This sprit is innate in human mind. The places where people are living together and there is no support from anybody like Government then they contributed and monitored themselves and their group took the responsibility of monitoring and managing in every way. Researchers learned lesson from that and encouraged community participation in development program of nongovernment organizations programs. This process is also well recognized by governments and international planners therefore this process is encouraged through millennium goals too. Participatory process and consultation activity was experienced by different organizations to increase the productivity. Researcher tried to get help of this activity of participation to develop it to maximum level of transparency. Therefore, in this paper main objective of study is to encourage and manage this activity of participation by giving a new model through which a poor’s bank will be developed to reduce poverty. This study is exploratory and based upon conclusions drawn from literature review, personal observations, informal consultations with researchers and experts of NGOs and innovation efforts of researcher. This model is first ever in literature which has practical evidence of information system.
