Considerando esse fato, é objetivo desta pesquisa identificar padrões de especialização produtiva a partir do emprego formal nas atividades produtivas dos estados brasileiros. Com essa análise, buscou-se captar os setores que vem se destacando ao longo do período de 1990 a 2016. Além disso, buscou-se avaliar o grau de mudança na especialização produtiva dos estados brasileiros nas últimas décadas. Para isso, utilizou-se os métodos de análise regional, quais sejam, o coeficiente de reestruturação e o quociente locacional, com o emprego formal como variável base. Dentre os resultados encontrados, ressalta-se que o setor terciário foi o setor produtivo que apresentou maior número de estados com forte especialização nesse setor e maior participação percentual do emprego formal na maioria dos estados brasileiros. Destaca-se que a participação do emprego formal no setor industrial vem caindo e que a participação do emprego formal no setor de serviços vem ganhando força nas últimas décadas. Portanto, pela análise feita nessa pesquisa, constata-se a ocorrência de um processo de desindustrialização. Palavras-chave: Abertura comercial. Transformação produtiva. Desindustrialização. ABSTRAT In Brazil, the period after the commercial and financial opening led to the locational alteration of some sectors, especially the industry. From this aspect, the objectives of this research is identify patterns of productive specialization from the formal employment in the productive activities of the Brazilian states. This analysis will allow us to capture the sectors that have been highlighting over the period from 1990 to 2016. In addition, we will evaluate the degree of change in the productive specialization of the Brazilian states in the last decades. For this analysis we will consider two regional analysis methods: the restructuring coefficient and the locational quotient. The base variable consider in both methods will be formal employment. Among the results found, we could figure out that a higher number of states presents strong specialization and higher percentage shares of formal employment concerning to the tertiary sector. We highlight that the share of formal employment in the industrial sector has been falling and that the share of formal employment in the service sector has been increasing in recent decades. Therefore, through the analysis made in this research, we can noticed a deindustrialization process in the Brazilian economy. Keywords: Commercial opening. Productive transformation.
