Castro  ___________________________________________________________ Resumo Este artigo trata do livro O Poder Jovem a partir da interpretação de que há nela a construção de um arquétipo da figura do jovem estudante que resulta de um processo de tipificação e mitificação. Na análise da obra é possível verificar as bases de uma memória social dos, anos 1960, na qual Arthur Poerner se tornou referência ao narrar a história do movimento estudantil brasileiro. À esta memória foi atribuída uma função de endossar o saudosismo sobre a resistência estudantil durante o período de regime militar, sendo inclusive recuperada na reorganização da UNE na reabertura política do Brasil. Assim, Poerner e seu livro encerram representações intelectuais que não debateram a atuação juvenil e estudantil à luz das teorias sociológicas e históricas, dando margem às explicações típicas e míticas. Palavras-chave: Arthur Poerner; Poder Jovem; Movimento Estudatil; Representações Intelectuais Abstract The present article aims to find in the work O Poder Jovem (Youth Power) the construction of an archetype of the young student figure through his typification and mythification. From the analysis of the work mentioned above it is possible to verify the utilization of a built social memory, specially in the 1960s, in which Arthur Poerner became a reference retelling the story of the Brazilian student movement. To this memory has been assigned a function of endorsing the nostalgia about student’s resistance during the military regime period, being inclusively recovered in the reorganization of UNE (National Students Union) in Brazil’s political reopening. Therefore, Poerner and his book settles the intellectual representations that did not discussed youth and student action in the light of sociological and historical theories, giving occasion to typical and mythical explanations. Keywords: Arthur Poerner; Youth Power; Student Movement; Intellectuals Representations Resumen Este artículo tiene como objetivo encontrar en el libro O Poder Jovem de Arthur José Poerner la constucción de una figura arquetípica de la joven estudiante de Brasil através de su tipificación y la mistificación. A partir del análisis de la obra puede se verificar el uso de una memoria social construída principalmente en la década de 1960, en la que Arthur Poerner se convirtió em referencia a volver a contar la historia del movimiento estudiantil brasileño.
