Zameriavame sa predovšetkým na aspekt vzhľadovej nápadnosti, ktorá býva jednou z príčin sociálnej stigmatizácie osôb s telesným postihnutím. V nad- väznosti na túto skutočnosť analyzujeme, ako je viditeľná odlišnosť literárnej postavy s telesným postihnutím reprezentovaná v knižnej ilustrácii. V tomto smere načrtávame dve línie ilustrátorských prístupov – tradičný, v ktorom sú znaky telesnej odlišnosti pos- tavy potlačené, a inovatívny, ktorý sa naopak snaží o ich odkrývanie a (s ohľadom na formatívne funkcie knihy) aj o ich destigmatizáciu. It primarily focuses on the aspect of physical appearance con- spicuousness that is one of the causes of social stigmatization of people with physical disabilities. Subsequently, it is analyzed how the visible physical differences of a literary character with a physical disability are represented in a book illustration. In this way, two lines of illustratorʼs approaches are drawn – a traditional one, in which the featu- res of the character physical otherness are suppressed, and an innovative one, which, on the contrary, seeks to uncover and (in regard to the formatting functions of books) destigmatize them.
