ABSTRACT The genus Octodrilus is represented by two species in Turkey: Octodrilus complanatus (Dugès, 1828) and Octodrilus transpadanus (Rosa, 1884). O. transpadanus is a Trans-Aegean species recorded from central Europe through Turkey to Georgia. It was recorded from almost all geographic regions of Turkey in previous studies. O. complanatus is a circum-mediterranean species which is widely distributed especially in countries and islands located in and around the Mediterranean basin. In Turkey, it is registered from the Marmara, Aegean and North-Western Anatolia Regions and here it is reported for the first time from Inner Anatolia as well. Keywords: Octodrilus complanatus, Octodrilus transpadanus, distribution, earthworms, Lumbricidae, Fauna of Turkey. INTRODUCTION The Palearctic genus Octodrilus consists of about 40 species. Most of them are so far registered only in Europe showing three diversity centres: the Balkan Peninsula, the Carpathians and the Southern Alps. Among the Octodrilus species only two are widespread (Csuzdi et al., 2018) Octodrilus complanatus (Dugès, 1828) and Octodrilus transpadanus (Rosa, 1884). These species were recorded previously from Turkey (Mýsýrlýoðlu et al., 2019). Octodrilus complanatus is reported just from a few localities in the Marmara, Aegean and North-Western Anatolia Regions until now; Octodrilus transpadanus is more common, it was registered from almost all regions of Turkey (Mýsýrlýoðlu, 2017; Mýsýrlýoðlu et al., 2019).
