College of Engineering Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Putrajaya Campus, 43009 Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia ABSTRACT In Malaysia, we have a total of 71 open dumping area and 11 sanitary landfill. These open dumping area will be closed after it has achieved it full capacity. A study to determine the bearing capacity of waste soil from open dumping area will be conducted to know the load that the waste soil can take for future development. Since the area for development is less thus it is critical to reuse the dumping area. Several studies show that the bearing capacity is the ability of the soil to safely carry the pressure placed on the soil from any engineered structure without undergoing the shear failure with accompanying the large settlement. Bearing capacity need to be estimated by numerical method with all parameter that will be find out using laboratory testing. The method that we used for calculating the bearing capacity are develop in 1940 by Terzaghi in (1943) and Meyerhof in (1953). This method was applied to the foundation for solving bearing capacity problem in the dump site. This study will used the Meyerhof’s Method and Monte Carlo Simulation for bearing capacity analysis. The Meyerhof’s Method will be using the geotechnical parameters such as friction angle and cohesion for the waste soil. Since the waste soil is
