They have been broadly used by academics as the information resources, since they can provide a large variety of facilities and services. The current research investigates the relationships between the use of selected SNSs (Twitter and Facebook) and political knowledge, attitude and behavior of Iranian university students. A survey research design along with a structured questionnaire are employed as the means of data collection with the research sample size of 382 students in this work. After collecting data and a rigorous analysis of them, the findings showed that there is a direct and positive relation between the level of using social networks and political knowledge, attitude and behavior. The results also showed the level of political knowledge and activities are moderate in the situations in which there is a moderate level of participation in the society. This reality that the moderation in different sectors of students addresses the government to have a positive picture of opposing ideas is concluded in this research. Finally, based on the results obtained in the study, it is highly recommended defining appropriate SNSs management and control strategies by decision makers, in order to disable the corrupted groups that wish to downgrade the healthy stream of political participation.
