The factors that influence employee performance remain a fundamental question for human resources practitioners. In order to promote the performance of the employees’ one should focus on positive aspects rather than negative aspects. This paper focus on the positive constructs such as emotional intelligence and psychological capital and examined the predictive power of emotional intelligence and psychological capital for job performance using the responses from 403 employees. Results revealed that the dimensions of psychological capital such as self- efficacy and optimism along with dimensions of emotional intelligence namely emotional management, emotional awareness, socio-emotional awareness and relationship management can predict employees’ performance. The knowledge and application of variables psychological capital, emotional intelligence and job performance will undoubtedly help the managers to execute the right person, and could improve the performance of the organization. Finding of the present study will helps in cost reduction by promoting and selecting the right person for the right job.
