RESUMEN La formación en el primer año del profesional de la edu- cación es una etapa de gran Importancia por el giro cua- litativo integral que se debe producir en la personalidad del estudiante en proceso de formación. Durante este período se comienzan a formar y a desarrollar las bases del futuro desempeño. El proceso de enseñanza aprendi- zaje debe estar orientado a lograr la integralidad del fu- turo profesional. El objetivo del presente artículo persigue exponer una caracterización desde lo teórico acerca del currículo que se desarrolla en el proceso de formación inicial del profesional docente, de la estructura curricular, las particularidades de la formación inicial y la importan- cia de la formación en el primer año de la carrera para garantizar el buen desempeño del profesional y la calidad en la ejecución de sus funciones. El mismo se sustenta en una estrategia metodológica que combina las perspecti- vas cuantitativas y cualitativas, mediante la cual se em- plea una diversidad de métodos, procedimientos y técni- cas para la recogida de información, con predominio de la revisión bibliográfica y documental, la observación, los métodos histórico-lógicos y analíticos sintéticos. Como resultado se obtiene una exposición de las características fundamentales del currículo en el primer año de la carrera de educación, la cual puede ser útil para reorientar la vi- sión pedagógica actual de la malla curricular en cuestión. ABSTRACT Training in the first year of the education professional is a stage of great importance for the integral qualitative chan- ge that must occur in the personality of the student in the process of formation. During this period, the foundations of future performance begin to be formed and developed. The teaching-learning process must be aimed at achie- ving the integrality of the future professional. The aim of this article is to present a theoretical characterization of the curriculum developed in the initial teacher training process, the curricular structure, the characteristics of ini- tial training and the importance of training in the first year of the race to guarantee the good performance of the pro- fessional and the quality in the execution of his functions. It is based on a methodological strategy that combines quantitative and qualitative perspectives, through which a variety of methods, procedures and techniques are used to collect information, with a predominance of biblio- graphic and documentary review, observation, historical methods -logical and analytical synthetic. As a result we obtain an exposition of the fundamental characteristics of the curriculum in the first year of the education career, which can be useful to reorient the current pedagogical vision of the curricular mesh in question.
