It is to this end that new media technologies are being utilized to provide faith-based materials. Christian mobile applications are one of such technologies that provide Christian content and experience. Using the Media Richness Theory and Religious Social-shaping of Technology Theory as theoretical framework, this paper examined Christian mobile applications and their place in faith building. It described the nature, operations, benefits as well as drawbacks of these applications. It concluded that Christians should maximize the use of their smart phones to enrich their Christian experience by downloading and using Christian mobile applications as they are useful for meditation, building spiritual intimacy, and messaging.
