As Guirvich points out ‘nothing can be explained by itself ’. It is necessary to pay attention to the concepts that reveal the period of modernism, the formation processes and the background perceptions that form. In this study, considering the social processes that triggered the emergence of the issue, the effect of actual change on the perception of space will be focused. While the subject of change and transformation processes in space perception will be examined, the subject will be examined with the elements that trigger this issue in the background. The study will be deal with this basic reference and will focus on the historical process that prepared the modernity, and also the processes called postmodernity periods which emerged in the modernity and later, and the transformations in the spatial production processes and their social changes. Mekân Algısının Modernite Ve Postmodernite Açısından Dönüşüm Süreci Özet Bir konunun açılımı, kavramları ve oluşum süreçlerini anlamak; onu ortaya çıkaran, doğrudan ve dolaylı tetikleyen etkenleri ve gelişim süreçlerini inceleyerek anlamayı gerektirir. Guirvich’in de değindiği gibi, ‘hiçbir şey kendinden kalkılarak açıklanamaz’. Modernizm dönemini ortaya çıkaran kavramlara, oluşum süreçlerine ve meydana getiren arka plan algılarına dikkat etmek gerekir. Bu konu ile ilgili çalışmada da konunun ortaya çıkışını tetikleyen toplumsal süreçler de dikkate alınarak, gerçekleşen değişimin mekân algısına olan etkisine odaklanılacaktır. Mekân algısındaki değişim ve dönüşüm süreçleri konusu incelenirken, arka planda bu konuyu tetikleyen unsurlarla birlikte konu ele alınarak incelenecektir. Çalışma bu temel referansla ele alınarak moderniteyi hazırlayan tarihsel sürece değinecek, ayrıca modernite ve sonrasında ortaya çıkan postmodernite dönemleri olarak adlandırılan süreçleri ve onların yarattığı toplumsal değişimler ve mekânsal üretim süreçlerindeki dönüşümlere odaklanılacaktır.
