(Received : December, 2018 412/18 Accepted : February, 2019) Abstract A ten year old nulliparous Pomeranian bitch was brought to Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (TVCC), Mannuthy, KVASU with bilateral enlarged caudal mammary glands and with the history of repeated episodes of purulent vaginal discharge since a few years. Clinical and ultrasonic evaluation conrmed the diagnosis of uterine serosal inclusion cyst. Surgical excision of mammary gland tumours along with ovario- hysterectomy was performed under general anaesthesia. Histopathological evaluation of the uterus conrmed panmetritis and endometrial hyperplasia. Key words: Panmetritis, Endometrial hyper- plasia Serosal inclusion cysts are structures that arise from mesothelial cells when they become trapped in the serosa due to rapid contraction of the involuting uterus during the post-partum period (McEntee, 1990). These cysts are thin-walled and contain a clear, watery uid, and vary in size from a few millimetres to a few centimetres. They are localised on the anti-mesometrial side of the uterus (Kennedy and Miller, 1993, McEntee, loc. cit). Case History and Observations A ten year old nulliparous Pomeranian bitch was brought to Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (TVCC), Mannuthy, KVASU with bilateral enlarged caudal mammary glands and with the history of repeated episodes of purulent vaginal discharge since a few years. Animal had abnormal sero-sanguinous vaginal discharge noticed on presentation, and clinical examination revealed rise in temperature and pale mucus membrane. Haematolology showed lowered haemoglobin level and normal serum biochemical values. Ultrasonic evaluation revealed multiple uid lled hypoechoic areas adjacent to the uterine body. Pre-surgical stabilisation of animal was carried out by intravenous uid therapy. This was followed by surgical excision of mammary 1 Corresponding author : Email : athiravpillai18@gmail.com New Vaccination Schedule for Canine ...
