Funciones espaciales en sujetos normales con diferentes niveles educativos Vicente Arturo López Cortés,* 1 Yulia Solovieva,* Luis Quintanar Rojas* Resumen Abstract O bjective: To characterize the state of spatial functions in a population of normal adults with different educative levels. Material and methods: As instrument for assessment the corresponding tasks of the Scheme of Brief Neuropsychological Evaluation for Adults was used. This instrument is based on the concept of the neuropsychological mechanisms which participate in t h e accomplishment of the actions on psychological level. For the sample 150 subjects, 75 men and 75 women, all inhabitants of the State of Puebla (Mexico) with different educative levels were selected: 1) illiterate; 2) primary incomplete; 3) primary completed; 4) secondary completed and 5) preparatory completed. In each group 15 women and 15 men were included. Results: The results show that the educational level plays an important role in the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of executions of the neuropsychological tasks which include spatial functions. The illiterate subjects and subjects with primary incomplete occupy the most deficient places in this gradient. In the study the qualitative characteristics of the executions of the subjects with different educative levels were settled down. The presence of difficulties related to the analytical perceptual strategy is considered in subjects with educational level from illiterate to secondary. However, the difficulties related to the global perceptual strategy were observed only in the illiterate group. Discussion: The discussion indicates that the functional state of the spatial functions mechanisms is strongly related to educational level. O bjetivo: Caracterizar el estado de las funciones espaciales en una población de adultos normales con diferentes niveles educativos. Material y méto- dos: Como instrumento de evaluación se utilizaron las tareas correspondientes del Esquema de Evaluación Neuropsicológica Breve para Adulto. Dicho instrumento se basa en el concepto de los mecanismos neuropsicológicos que participan en la reali- zación de las acciones a nivel psicológico. Para la muestra se seleccionaron 150 suje- tos, 75 hombres y 75 mujeres, todos habitantes del Estado de Puebla (México) con niveles educativos diferentes: 1) analfabetas; 2) primaria incompleta; 3) primaria completa; 4) secundaria completa y 5) preparatoria completa. En cada grupo se inclu- yeron 15 mujeres y 15 hombres. Resultados: Los resultados muestran que el nivel educativo juega un papel importante en las características cuantitativas y cualitativas de ejecución de las tareas neuropsicológicas que incluyen el mecanismo espacial. Los sujetos analfabetas y con primaria incompleta ocupan los lugares más deficientes en este gradiente. En el estudio se establecieron las características cualitativas de las ejecuciones de los sujetos con distintos niveles educativos. Se plantea la presencia de dificultades relacionadas con la estrategia espacial analítica en sujetos de los niveles educativos desde analfabeta hasta secundaria, mientras que las dificultades relacio- nadas con la estrategia espacial global se observaron solamente en el grupo analfabe- ta. Discusión: En la discusión se señala que el estado funcional de los mecanismos espaciales se encuentra en estrecha relación con el nivel educativo del sujeto.
