To provide security, this Home Security and automation system has been implemented using a microprocessor, arduino uno and a web application which can monitor home appliances for 24 hours. A Bio-metric lock is used to open/close the door. Gas sensor is used to monitor the gas in the house for 24/7. Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR) sensor is used to monitor the house when the door is locked. If any movement is detected by this sensor immediately this system alerts the user via SMS. This system also has some additional features for automation measures. While we leave the house we may forget to turn off the home appliances. So a web application is used to check the status of home appliances and also it can be turned on/off via web app. This system is implemented to secure the house from unauthorized persons. Key Words: Security System, Automation system, PIR Sensor, Arduino, Bio-metric lock, Web app. I. Introduction: The main objective of the system is home security. Home security is much needed in this crime-ridden society, crime rates on theft is increasing in the places where there is no security system is installed. Also this system contains safety and automation system. A small mistake can results in fire accidents, so we also added safety precautions. In this system, we have used a LPC812 an ARM Cortex-M0+ based micro-processor, PIR Sensor, Gas Sensor, Arduino Uno micro-controller, GSM, Wi-Fi Module. A PIR Sensor is used to monitor the home while we are far from home. A Gas Sensor is used to monitor the gas status for 24/7and it can be checked via web application. A Bio-metric (Finger Print Sensor) lock is used to authenticate the door. II. LITERATURE SURVEY Siddharth Wadhwani, Uday Singh, Prakarsh Singh, Shraddha Dwivedi [1] has discussed on their paper that both automation and security by using arduino chip set In this type of technology smart phones are mainly used as a key device so we use IoT as a bridge .This system has flux sensor, fire sensor, accelerometer and door sensor for security system and for automation motor driver, relay driver were used to control DC fan and light. 5 volte direct current supplies is used as Supply for control process. Cloud platform like THINKSPEAK, WI-FI module to access network and connect device were used in this system for automation. If any movement is detected the system will alert the user via mobile phone. If any fire accident occurs inside the house the fire sensor will detect the fire and alert the user via mobile phone and if the door hit and broke by someone the door sensor will detect it and alert the user. In automation process, flux sensor is used to control the lighting system the acidometer is used to control the rotation of motor. Arduino software is used write code and uploads in microprocessor. Shreyash Chandak, Purvi Multani, Pratik Kawadkar, Radhika Agrawal, Bhumika Neole [2] has discussed on their paper home security system and this system uses raspberry pi. This system is IOT based system this system uses gas sensor, PIR sensor, GSM and finger print sensor. This system has three levels. The level one has authentication access like finger print and the second layer used to detect unwanted intruder in house and the third level has detect fire in house. This system use Android Application in mobile phone. This system has Machine-to-machine (M2M) communication and uses between the embedded devices. thus system has GSM module is used to send alert to user if any fire accident occur inside the house the fire sensor will detect the fire and alert the user and PIR sensor is used analysis the area if any change occur in area like any motion occur in area the IR radiation will change by calculating the change it will detect the change and alert the user. Shivam Kansal, Rishabh Bansal, Shivam Chaurasiya [3] has discussed on their paper the security and home safety system. This system mainly use Atmel Atmega328 microcontroller to control and process the system. For security process this system uses ultrasonic sensor. The Ultrasonic Sensor sends out a high-frequency sound pulse and then times how long it takes for the echo of the sound to reflect back by this process it detect thing or a person, If any time delay occurs the system consider it as a thread and alert the user by SMS for safety system gas sensor and smoke sensor are been use. This system work on embedded system. This system has a SMS (Short Message Service) based communication system by using GSM. if any leakage of gas occurs like LPG, butane, hydrogen, etc. the smoke sensor is used to detect the gas present in a room if any change occur in room like coal gas and combustible gas. If any detection occurs in both gas sensor and fire sensor the system will alert the user by SMS. Nita Chaudhari, Vishal Dalvi, Megha Patil, Ashwini Gharal, Sumit Kumar [4] has discussed on their paper Home and Industrial Security system for security purpose this system uses PIR sensor, magnetic door sensor. For safety system fire sensor is used and this system has a Wi-Fi and cloud technologies and if any door break detection occurs the system will alert user by the E-mail and if any change in IR radiation in a room or a area the PIR sensor detect it and send an alert E-mail to the use with the help of Wi-Fi module and the data are been stored in the cloud platform. This system is an embedded system. This system works
